Project Accountant Location New York, NY (Garment District area) :

Project Accountant

Triton Construction is looking for a detail-oriented team player with a Construction Accounting Background. Project Accountants are responsible for organizing and processing all on-going daily accounting activities associated with a construction project. The Project Accountant is responsible for client billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable and job costing as they relate to assigned projects. In addition, this candidate will provide support for month end and year end close processes. The ideal candidate will have had previous experience with working with NYCDDC or a similar city agency.

Responsibilities for Project Accountant Position:

• Review field approved subcontractor billing for accuracy
• Confirm contract status for new subcontractor billing
• Compile & review General Conditions monthly report/expenses
• Generate and accurately process monthly General Construction G702/703 requisition billing per approved pencil copies and General Conditions report in a timely manner
• Attend requisition review meetings
• Monitor project imprest account balances and replenishments
• Investigate any unbilled project costs
• Review & enter all general condition and subcontractor invoices
• Maintain project files
• Assist in project close-out (all financial and contractual waivers, warranties, etc)
• Assist in auditor prep (June and December)
• Additional assignments upon request of accounting supervisors
• Position may potentially require being onsite full-time (Queens)

Requirements for Project Accountant Position:

• Bachelor Degree in Accounting or related field
• 3-5 years' experience in construction accounting
• Knowledge of Sage 300 (Timberline) software
• NYCDDC experience or similar city agency experience
• Knowledge of Excel
• Experience with Procore a plus
• Proficient in G702/703 formatted requisition billing
• Clear understanding of contract types (Construction Manager as Agent, Guaranteed Maximum Price (GMP), Lump Sum, Cost Plus)
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment, high sense of urgency and ownership of work. Demonstrated ability to manage deadlines.
• Extremely meticulous with strong organization skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks
• Communication and analytical skills

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $115,000.00 per year
