Position Overview  

We are looking for a positive, curious and highly organized part-time marketing manager who will help us, and our community, show up as our most respectful, welcoming and empathetic selves. 

The marketing manager will work closely with the MarComms Director, Graphic Designer, Social Media Contractor, and Web Developer to keep marketing flowing smoothly for all PNA events. The role relies heavily on project management skills because projects are multi-stepped and often overlap. The manager also owns individual workstreams: the monthly e-news, the quarterly Review Newspaper, and serves as the primary contact for website updates. This is a six-month role with the possibility of growing into a full-time position, depending on organizational needs. 

Essential Responsibilities  

Social Media  

  • Source images and stories from PNA archives to support the social media contractor, who owns channel strategy. 

Graphic Design  

  • Collect and prioritize design requests (posters, banners, flyers, maps, postcards, business cards, etc.). 
  • Manage each project from request through production and delivery, collaborating with the graphic designer. 

Email  

  • Produce and send the monthly e-newsletter. 
  • Monitor performance metrics and experiment with tactics to grow subscriptions and engagement. 
  • Fulfill targeted-email requests from the events team. 

Newspaper  

  • Ensure smooth production of the quarterly Review (20,000 households), working with all departments, designer, printer and USPS. 
  • Sell, manage and invoice up to 18 advertisements per issue. 

Website  

  • Build new pages and event listings on WordPress; keep all information current. 
  • Support events and rentals teams with class or event registration links and basic troubleshooting.

Event Management  

  • Meet with the events team at project kickoff to record marketing deliverables, tasks and deadlines. 
  • Track progress to ensure collateral, web updates, emails and social posts launch on schedule. 

Qualifications  

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ project-management and marketing experience in nonprofit or other fast-paced environments 
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently 
  • Experience with driving projects forward and keeping collaborators accountable 
  • Experience updating websites, particularly with WordPress 
  • Experience with the project-management software Asana 
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with attention to detail 
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and a desire to collaborate across departments, members and volunteers with varied communication styles 
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to track, analyze and report engagement 
  • Curious, action-oriented and able to juggle concurrent projects 
  • Comfortable in an open-office environment and able to work in person most of the week 

Compensation  

This 20-hour-per-week, Monday-through-Friday position pays $25 to $27 an hour, depending on experience .
