Our Health and Science System Specialists Team provides leadership across patient care settings in the complex Hospital, Health System, and Key Medical Group environment to bring value to our customers and patients in this dynamic ecosystem. The Health and Science System Specialist (HSSS) is responsible for launching new products, managing business relationships, understanding formulary access, and engaging in product promotion within assigned accounts. They will also focus on sales efforts and relationship development with customers and accounts, including Therapeutic Area Specialists and Key Opinion Leaders (KOLs). The HSSS should possess customer, market, and business acumen, with strong product and disease state knowledge; demonstrate sales, promotional, and strategic business development skills; have customer engagement expertise in virtual and in-person settings; and be adept at utilizing digital tools and platforms for customer engagement. They should be able to work remotely, coordinating with internal teams to meet customer needs and Pfizer's business objectives. The role involves engaging with two main sets of account-based customers: Health Systems and their Affiliates, including Academic Medical Centers, Medical Groups, Centers of Excellence, and Community Hospitals. Scaled account-based medical groups and institutions, including Medical Groups, Community Hospitals, and Hospital Systems. Responsibilities include gaining access, calling on, and educating high-value clinicians, key targets, influencers, and decision-makers within health systems and accounts. The role also involves gathering customer and market insights, managing relationships, understanding formulary access, and promoting products within these accounts. Sales responsibilities include developing relationships with physicians, KOLs, pharmacists, care advocates, and other prescription enablers within health system institutions, medical groups, and hospital service areas. Clinical knowledge should include expertise in or ability to learn current therapeutic areas used in both ambulatory and inpatient settings. Demonstrating strong selling skills, knowledge of payer dynamics, competitors, and disease states is essential. The HSSS will participate in local market planning and implement key initiatives, collaborating with Pfizer’s Key Account Managers and Medical Outcomes & Analytics teams as needed. Role Responsibilities Identify and implement effective virtual/in-person engagement strategies tailored to each customer to maximize impact. Build rapport and relationships with KOLs and customers across virtual and face-to-face environments; utilize digital tools effectively; leverage analytics for insights and next steps. Engage key customers to grow business and drive product demand by providing education that meets healthcare professional and patient needs. Deliver targeted messaging using approved materials to influence prescribing behavior and support product demand, utilizing account priorities. Educate providers on product value propositions and disease states, using approved clinical information. Plan and execute customer engagements in multiple formats, including virtual and in-person visits. Optimize customer interactions by deploying Pfizer resources strategically to support providers and patients. Support patient access to Pfizer products through reimbursement information, Patient Assistance Programs, and Co-Pay Resources. Present terms of sale and answer on-label questions proactively; introduce customers to Pfizer’s digital resources like Galaxy. Collaborate with cross-functional teams (Medical, Reimbursement, Key Account Management) to address inquiries and meet objectives. Utilize digital tools and insights to improve customer engagement and share feedback with leadership. Develop a deep understanding of target institutions, organizations, and healthcare providers. Drive sales within assigned health systems and accounts. Contribute to team productivity through insights, relationship management, and strategic pull-through. Navigate changes in the healthcare landscape effectively. Influence customers by uncovering needs and communicating persuasively. Apply stakeholder mapping and patient journey insights to planning. Develop strategic account management and selling skills. Basic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree. Minimum 3 years of experience in pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing, promotional sales, or relevant fields; or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience. Proven success in marketing, promotion, or sales, with strong territory management and communication skills, and demonstrated leadership and accountability. Residency within 25 miles of the territory border. Valid US driver’s license with a compliant driving record. Leadership experience and ability to sell in specialized markets with third-party reimbursement. Preferred Qualifications Advanced knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products. Strategic account marketing, promotional, and management skills. Ability to develop comprehensive territory and account plans. Strong marketing, promotional, sales, technical, and relationship-building skills. Proven ability to assess account needs and utilize resources effectively. Business acumen, problem-solving, strategic thinking, data analysis, and project management skills. Ability to engage and influence customers throughout the sales process. Change agility and ability to adapt quickly to new ways of working. Leadership and collaboration skills in a matrix environment. Excellent organizational, analytical, and time management skills.
