We’re seeking a certified HCC Coding Audi tor to join a dynamic team supporting a leading healthcare organization’s risk adjustment program.

This fully remote role focuses on retrospective chart reviews and audit validation to ensure accurate and compliant ICD-10-CM coding for CMS risk adjustment submissions.

Pay Rate: $24.65 p/hr
Location: 100% Remote
Schedule: Full-Time | 8 hours per day 40 hours per week

Expectations: 225 cases weekly with 95% accuracy

Key Responsibilities:

• Review medical charts retrospectively to validate Hierarchical Condition Category (HCC) coding
• Apply ICD-10-CM guidelines and clinical documentation standards to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support coding decisions with appropriate documentation and coding best practices
• Conduct audits in compliance with CMS and HIPAA regulations
• Identify trends or gaps in documentation and contribute to audit quality improvements
• Accurately document audit findings and maintain detailed records

Top 3 Skills Required:

• Advanced proficiency in ICD-10-CM coding , specifically in HCC risk adjustment
• Meticulous attention to detail and accuracy in retrospective chart review
• Deep knowledge of CMS coding guidelines and HIPAA-compliant data handling

Qualifications:

• Minimum 3 years of coding and audit experience required
• Certified coder through AAPC or AHIMA (e.g., CPC, CCS-P, CRC)
• Associate degree or equivalent experience
• Experience using Microsoft Office and standard coding platforms
• Prior experience in retrospective risk adjustment audits strongly preferred
