Position: Broadcast Director at KSDK-TV Saint Louis The primary responsibility of this position is directing daily newscasts and other local programs, utilizing production automation and manual switching operations. The Broadcast Director will collaborate with news, production, and technical teams to produce compelling newscasts and programs. We seek candidates with innovative production ideas, strong technical skills, and high-quality control management. Familiarity with studio operations including floor directing, camera operation, teleprompter, graphics, audio, lighting, editing, content management, and master control systems is essential. Responsibilities Direct live and recorded newscasts using automation and manual switching. Oversee the visual presentation of newscasts and programming. Identify and resolve potential on-air issues proactively. Troubleshoot technical systems as needed. Use editing and content management systems for content creation. Perform other production duties as assigned. Requirements Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, TV Production, or related field, or equivalent experience. Minimum 3 years experience with production automation, video switchers, newsroom systems, and graphics systems. Ability to adapt quickly during breaking news or unexpected events. Strong communication skills and teamwork orientation. Experience with ENPS, Chyron, and BitCentral is a plus. Flexible schedule including weekends, early mornings, nights, or holidays.
