Job Description: Dog Trainer
Location: 2602 Castro Valley Blvd, Castro Valley, CA
Classy Canine’s Wiggle Rumps is seeking a skilled and passionate Dog Trainer to join our team. We are looking for someone who is fluent in all aspects of puppy training, basic to advanced obedience training, behavior modification, and has the ability to lead group classes as well as provide one-on-one training sessions.
Responsibilities:
• Conduct puppy training classes, including basic socialization and foundational commands.
• Provide basic, intermediate, and advanced obedience training for dogs of all ages and breeds.
• Address and correct unwanted behaviors through behavior modification techniques.
• Lead group training classes, creating a structured and engaging learning environment for dogs and their owners.
• Offer individualized training sessions tailored to meet the specific needs of each client and dog.
• Educate dog owners on training methods, behavior reinforcement, and care techniques.
• Maintain a clean and professional training environment.
• Track the progress of training sessions and provide feedback to clients.
Requirements:
• Experience: Must have prior experience training dogs, including obedience, behavior modification, and group class facilitation.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of positive reinforcement techniques and other modern training methods.
• Motivated and Attentive: Ability to work with dogs of various temperaments and build trust with clients.
• Excellent communication skills to effectively teach and guide dog owners.
• Ability to remain patient, calm, and professional in all interactions.
• Physical capability to work with dogs of all sizes and energy levels.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Familiarity with advanced training techniques or specialized skills (e.g., agility, scent work) is a bonus.
