Our products are primarily sold wholesale, dropship through 3rd party retailers or direct to consumers.
Job Overview
We’re looking to add a 2nd demand planner to the team who will work under the direction of our head of ecommerce & company leadership to manage sell-thru forecast and matching supply. Primary job functions will focus on establishing and updating sell-thru SKU level monthly forecast, monitoring actual results and corresponding supply coverage. You will separate the forecast into a SKU and key account level (Amazon) and group the rest of the projected demand. Working closely with the development team, you will oversee adding the product specs attributes to our demand planning software and maintaining them up to date.
We have invested in demand planning software to automate our data mining process consolidating POS sell-thru, open Purchase Orders, available on hand inventory. You will be responsible for reviewing, confirming, or adjusting the calculated statistical forecast for existing carry-over items making sure to account for out of stock and promotional activity effect. You will research, present, and add to the DRP new items forecast based on comparative items past performance.
We are looking for someone with well-rounded experience in CPG who understands production & transit lead time as well as key retail success drivers: pricing, in stocks, product placement. In addition to SKU forecast, you will collaborate closely with our sourcing team and assist with PO order placing, production shipment plan. We meet monthly to review forecast to actuals performance, and you will help prepare the presentation material (SI&OP review). You will closely collaborate with the marketing team to plan promotional activity and forecast sales lift.
Responsibilities and Duties
• Maintain product attributes across catalog in Demand Resource Planning software.
• Assist in the development of POS Forecast at SKU & key customers level (i.e., Amazon) across our 1000 SKU strong assortment.
• Initiate and adjust demand plans on a SKU/month level for all accounts and recommend units to order accordingly.
• Evaluate real-time forecast consumption and consumer level POS information; communicate corrective action to optimize inventory supply coverage in accordance with those trends.
• Working with sourcing and leadership, prepare and present PO needs to support demand plan.
• Working with marketing team, adjust forecast to account for promotional activity sales lift.
• On a monthly basis, help prepare forecast to actuals summary to be reviewed in SI&OP session.
• Identify and resolve supply shortfalls by working with Supply Planning team to formulate actions plan to avert stock out.
• Monitor SKU trends and make recommendations to End of Life existing items.
• Ad hoc analysis as required by management.
Qualifications
Required: Experience on demand planning specifically, monitoring actual sell thru performance of the product. Demand planning customer facing experience
• 3-5 years of inventory planning experience, preferably in the CPG industry
• Experience with Sales and Operations Planning Process as a team member or facilitator.
• Ability to understand organizations strategic direction and execute tactically.
• Outstanding attention to detail, without losing sight of the big picture.
• Advanced Excel spreadsheet, data modeling & planning software proficiency & expertise.
• General knowledge of MRP planning systems or aptitude to learn technical applications quickly.
• Ability to prioritize – be able to separate important vs urgent.
• Presentation Skills: Must have effective verbal and written communication skills. Good problem-solving skills are essential.
• Financial and Business Acumen: Ability to evaluate financial and business indicators and translate data into results driving actions.
Pay & Benefits
• Starting Salary of $80,000 to 120,000 (depending on experience) with opportunity for advancement
• Yearly on-target bonus of 10%+ of salary (based on company and individual performance)
