Catering & Courier Driver

Driver will provide delivery services specifically related to the Hospitality department catering and courier operations. The incumbent will deliver food and beverage products and internal parcels for the Hospitality department catering and courier needs. Incumbent will be responsible for keeping the delivery vehicle clean and recording use and maintenance.

Essential Functions. An individual in this role must be able to perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Deliver food and/or parcels for Hospitality department
• May require work/travel aboard a boat & other vessels
• Keep accurate records of deliveries and customer authorization
• Ensure all documentation is submitted to management in a timely manner
• Use and maintain delivery equipment
• Drive safely and follow all laws and rules of driving
• Keep company vehicle clean, well-maintained, fueled, and ready to drive
• Communicate with customers by phone to keep them abreast of delivery times as necessary
• Communicate change of delivery schedule to management
• Maintain and promote a positive professional working relationship with staff and clients
• Practice strong customer service skills at all times
• Maintain a mileage and maintenance log
• Perform additional duties as required

Minimum Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Must be 21 years of age with a Valid Alaska Driver's License
• Ability to obtain a Food Handlers Card
• Ability to do light maintenance and perform safety checks on vehicles
• Previous delivery experience

Preferred Qualifications (education, experience, skills):

• One year experience as a delivery driver

Physical Requirements. The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Ability to stand and walk for extended periods
• Ability to lift, carry, and move merchandise up to 50 lbs regularly
• Frequent reaching, bending, crouching, and using step stools/ladders

• The environment can be busy, especially during holidays, weekends, and seasonal sales events.
• The position operates in a business setting, with direct interaction with the public.
• Certain positions at Tlingit & Haida may have exposure to certain hazardous materials or conditions. The supervisor will review these if applicable.
