Job Skills / Requirements ALL APPLICANTS MUST HAVE A VALID MICHIGAN CONCEALED PISTOL LICENSE (Or be certified under LEOSA) AND HAVE PRIOR MILITARY OR LAW ENFORCEMENT EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED. SCOPE: This is not an entry-level role. This position is suited for a flexible person with armed military or law enforcement experience who is willing to go to whichever job site in the Greater Lansing Area they are needed to help secure and protect visitors, grounds, and staff in an armed capacity. This is a part-time role; however, depending upon availability, this position can expect up to 36 hours per week with occasional opportunities for overtime (subject to change based on business needs). SCHEDULE: Part-Time (16-36 hours per week based on availability). COMPENSATION: Rate of Pay: $19.50-$21.00/hour. Rates vary by work site. Benefits: Paid Medical Leave, and Voluntary Medical, Vision, Dental, and Life Insurance (eligibility requirements apply). LOCATION: Greater Lansing, MI JOB DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES: Must provide excellent customer service when dealing with Visitors, Staff, Executives, Co-Workers, etc. Observes and reports activities and incidents at assigned client locations. Guard posts – this may include building lobbies, gates, reception areas, control centers, etc. Conduct periodic foot patrols of the assigned locations. Ensure unauthorized persons do not enter restricted areas. Ensure a safe and secure environment for all employees and visitors, and will enforce policies and procedures for the site location. Check for employee and vendor identifications. Look for suspicious persons, packages and activities. Respond to emergency situations. Maintain regular communication with clients, follow through with client requests, and keep operations managers updated on client communications. Must follow and enforce site specific post guidelines. Other duties as assigned.
